Olympus introduces the E-M5

Olympus OM-D E-M5

Olympus Announces the OM-D, the modern digital version of the legendary OM-camera line. The new E-M5 represents the first camera of the OM-D, combining traditional looks like modern functionality. The 16MP Micro Four Thirds format camera features a tilting OLED touchscreen with 610,000 pixels as well as a built-in electronic viewfinder (EVF) with 1.4 million pixels. All-new 5-axis image stabilization in the camera body will hold your shots steady from camera shake and movement. The body has weather seals to protect against dust and rain.

The E-M5’s 16.1MP sensor provides for increased dynamic range, resolution and low noise even at high-ISO. Additionally, the high-speed processing provides up to 9fps continuous shooting.

Many accessories are available for the E-M5, including a wide variety of m4/3rds lenses, external flash units, lens mount adapters, grip and extended power battery holder.

The Olympus E-M5 is scheduled to be released April, 2012.
